silly chicken little theatre

Husband and wife, Victor and Dori Gotzmann, tell Teaching & Healing Stories to children of all ages, and adults too! We want the viewers, listeners to be involved and participate in the story, to learn with all their senses. We aim our stories at the audience.

So, what is the Teaching Story… in the words of Idries Shah: “….there is a continuum between the children’s story, the entertainment or folklore story, and the instructional or instrumental story. A story can help children deal with difficult situations and give them something to hold on to. It can, at the same time, stimulate a deeper understanding in adults. Through the instrumental function of this rich body of oral, written and visual material, we can all now learn to develop the capacity to be more flexible and to understand many more things about ourselves and about life.”

We serve audiences thought the K-12 system, we aim our performances at the different groups including Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle and High School. But we are happy to perform for every age group or mixed audiences.

Here are some of our featured stories from around the world, published by Hoopoe Books:

• The Silly Chicken

• The Clever Boy and the Terrible, Dangerous Animal

• The Man with Bad Manners

• The Old Woman and the Eagle

• Fatima the Spinner and the Tent

• The Magic Horse

“These stories give a child or adult the ability to see new possibilities and alternative ways of doing things.”
